Bachelor Challenge Season 1 - Episode 7

2nd Elimination

In tonight's episode of the Bachelor we will be witnessing the second elimination of the season! After some speed dating planned out by our bachelor in the previous episode, he now has a better idea of who he wants to keep on the show and who should pack their bags and leave the villa. Without further ado, let's get right into it!

As the bright sun shone onto Bobby's bed he knew it was time to get up and face the day. He felt a little groggy after going to bed late after his quick dinner date with Rosie last night but he knew today was an important day. Elimination number two is only several hours away and he never ended up going on a date with two of the contestants yesterday. Theodora and Clementine were on the top of his list for who he wants to talk to before the elimination ceremony so he washed up, got changed into comfortable clothes, and made his way to the kitchen.

Every girl woke up at a different time between 8-10am, some having a little lie in before rising out of bed while others using up their free time wisely. Each contestant couldn't help but glance at their flowers from the last elimination ceremony and wonder if they would be lucky enough to receive a bouquet from Bobby tonight, coming up with their own reasons why they deserve to be on the show.

Just before breakfast was served Bethany and Mary-Anne decided to jam out and play the guitar and cello together in the live music room. Some of the contestants came and watched, giving themselves a little distraction from the nerves they carried throughout the morning.

Breakfast was a little quieter than it usually was as everyone grabbed a portion of French toast, freshly made by their personal chef, and munched away in the dining room. Small talk was still being made between the girls but it was clear everyone was counting the minutes before the ceremony.

Bobby and Clementine were the first to empty their plates and so the bachelor took this opportunity to invite her into the small room where he talked to her last week. Clementine was a little reluctant to say yes to him as she thought back on their conversation from last week where Bobby questioned her if she had any romantic feelings for him... could she confidently say that she still has those feelings for him?

The pair abandoned the group in the dining room who were only halfway through their breakfast and settled down in the small room with the white couch. There was a short awkward silence when they first sat down before the bachelor decided to make the first move towards this important conversation.

"How are you doing, Clementine?" began Bobby in a calm tone.

Stunned by the break in silence she quickly replied, "Fine! I'm doing fine, yeah..."

"I apologise that I couldn't find time to share a date with you yesterday," continued the bachelor, "but you're not the only girl I neglected. As the competition goes on I want to have more adventurous dates and that means getting out of the villa. Time absolutely escaped me yesterday and... well, here we are."

"Yeah, I guess so," said Clementine, glancing away from the Bachelor.

"How was it seeing your sister a few days ago?" asked Bobby

"You know, it was really lovely," smiled Clementine softly, "I didn't realise how much I've missed her in the short time I was away from her. We've been living together ever since we were kids!"

"That's really great to hear, I'm glad I could facilitate a reunion!" chuckled Bobby. He met her gaze in that moment and proceeded to say,

"Although we don't have much time today I would love to still spend a quick romantic moment with you, a moment we missed out on yesterday." He began extending his arm and reaching towards Clementine, inviting her into a cuddle, "Would you like to spend this moment with me?"

Clementine's eyes became panicked before she extended her hands out to stop Bobby, "N-no Bobby, let's not." As Bobby began to pull away Clementine looked away from him.

The bachelor grew concerned, wasn't she enjoying this same interaction just a few days ago? "Is everything alright?" said the bachelor in a worried tone, Clementine stayed silent. "Did I make you uncomf-"

He gets interrupted as Clementine stood up and exited the room. He quickly stood up and followed her out.

She didn't go far, stopping at the first window she found and gazing out to watch the waves to calm herself down. Her heart raced along with her thoughts and she was managing to calm whatever was brewing inside of her. Bobby approached her from behind and laid his hand gently on her shoulder, "Clementine, is everything alright?"

She shook off his hand before turning to face him and all words disappeared from her mind. She looked at the bachelor's worried face and had no idea what to tell him.

"What's going on?" questioned Bobby, stern now. She finally worked up the strength to find an excuse,

"Maybe I'm just a little hurt after being ignored yesterday." Bobby's eyes widen and he defended himself by saying,

"I explained to you why I couldn't and I apologised about that Clementine, I can't change the past now. Will we be able to move on from this?"

"I'm not sure, something is stopping me from committing." She looked down at her feet as she spoke but she quickly raised her head after hearing the next words Bobby said,

"Why not just go home today then?" The bachelor's face turned into a cold gaze now, unhappy to hear that one of the contestants has cold feet. Clementine began to try take her words back but Bobby stopped her by saying, "This is a competition first and foremost, things won't be a fairytale here and you need to stay committed. I'm trying to find the love of my life in a short time and your reluctancy isn't helping."

Clementine felt crushed, why did she have to say those things and act that way?! She knew the damage was done and had nothing else to say, letting Bobby go. He walked out of the room and went outside into the garden for a brief moment to cool down. Why is it the second time before elimination that a girl has aggravated him? Why did these contestants even bother to come here if they clearly don't want to win his love? There's nobody there to answer his questions so he just takes a deep breath and walks away to find the second girl to talk with before elimination.

Theodora was on her way to the ping pong table when Bobby spotted her so he called out her name and approached her. Her smile erased any negative emotions he was feeling just minutes ago and he asked her to join him in the small room on the other side of the villa. She agreed and they made their way there.

As they settled down Bobby could feel the anger and disappointment he felt for Clementine brewing inside of him again. He didn't want to give in but he confessed something to Theodora,

"I actually just had a very unpleasant conversation with one of the other contestants so I'm sorry if I'm a more tense than I should be."

Theodora lightly gasped and responded, "goodness, I wonder what happened. I won't intrude though and I hope you feel better soon."

"Well, you're a nice distraction right now," smiled Bobby, "I just hope you won't also tell me that you can't commit to this show as well..." His voice trailed off and he felt a little embarrassed for admitting that but it's out in the open now.

"Oh gosh, no!" exclaimed Theodora, "I would never do something like that after getting so far!"

She began blushing a little as she said her next words, "and, well, I still have a lot to learn about you Bobby, I'm not ready to go home yet!" Her voice and words were like music to Bobby's ears and he smiled, feeling his shoulders relax and his worries fade away.

"Oh, come here you!" He was flooded with warmth and love for Theodora and extended his arms towards her to wrap her in a hug, his heart slightly skipping a beat expecting another rejection. She beamed with a wide smile and fell into his arms and felt him make a big exhale as they settled into their new position on the couch.

After a moment of silence and enjoying the experience of their warm skin against each other's Bobby quietly said to Theodora, "thank you for cheering me up, I really, really appreciate it."

She looked up and their eyes met and she watched his gaze for a moment before replying. His light blue eyes flickered between both of hers and he longingly stared into her bright eyes decorated with coloured contacts.

"Seriously, anytime Bobby," she smiled, "I always want to be there to make you happy." They settled back into a cuddle and he squeezed her into a tight hug before getting up and helping Theodora to her feet. They both sighed as they knew their intimate time was over and elimination was just moments away.

"Well, I won't say anything anymore, but I'll see you at elimination soon," winked Bobby. Theodora nodded and they both left the small room and started getting ready for the elimination ceremony.

Another hour passed as all the contestants and the bachelor were getting ready for the second elimination of the season, soon bringing down the population of the girls in the villa to only five. This week's theme, as picked by Bobby, was 'Tropical Sunset' and everyone donned their most flashy yet relaxed outfit that represented the theme to the fullest. They were all successful at expressing their individual styles and personalities through their clothes, hair and makeup and exchanged compliments when they all met up at the elimination room.

Mary-Anne was the first to be ready and spent the time waiting by playing the grand piano in the large room. As the contestants slowly trickled into the room, accompanied by the bachelor in the end, they all stood around and observed the tunes played before them. As she played her last song she looked around the room and saw that everyone was present and finished the song with a beautiful trill. After a respectful applause Bobby invited the contestants to take their spots on the podium and for them to begin the ceremony.

The girls could definitely notice that there was more space available to stand as Margo was missing after being eliminated last time. Their legs were slightly shaky from nervousness with some girls being unsure if it was their time to go tonight or if the bachelor will spare them.

Bobby cleared his throat and the girls straightened their backs as they intently listened to the bachelor speak. "Welcome, ladies, to our second elimination night. Thank you for all coming down here in some drop-dead gorgeous gowns and I am always stunned by each of your individual beauty." Some girls blushed and shuffled in their spot from Bobby's compliment.

"We've had an eventful couple of days," continued Bobby, "and I'm sure each of you hold a fond and unique memory which you spent with me. Keep these thoughts in mind to calm your nerves because the flower ceremony will begin now." You could hear audible gulps across the room and so the night begins.

"As always, we have a lucky girl who received a wildflower from me earlier," said Bobby as he looked at Mary-Anne. She knew he was talking about her and she struck a casual yet happy pose. "Come on down here girl, you're safe from tonight's elimination."

She approached the bachelor with confidence and shared a quick hug with the bachelor. When she pulled away she could see that Bobby was genuinely happy to have her staying on for another few days and she pictured that smile in her mind as she went and sat on one of the couches on the other side of the room.

"Now..." began Bobby, "who to give the first bouquet to..." His eyes glanced at every girl that stood before him and had a quick think of who deserved the first flowers. He stopped his darting eyes on the girl in white,

"Bethany."

She looked up to him and smiled as she prepared to walk off of the stage and to the handsome bachelor.

Once standing in front of him he presents her some fresh white roses and says,

"Will you accept this bouquet and stay in the villa, Bethany?"

"Of course, Bobby!" she exclaimed, "I'd be insane not to!" She gracefully accepted the flowers and indulged in the fresh flower smell before joining Mary-Anne at the couch.

With the first bouquet of flowers out of the way the remaining girls were still confident that they will be next but still waited in anticipation for the bachelor to utter the next name, "The next contestant to receive some flowers from me is..."

"Rosie."

She breathed a sigh of relief as she put her hands on her chest with glee and strutted down to Bobby. He presented a wonderful bundle of orange chrysanthemums to his chosen girl and says, "Will you take these flowers from me, Rosie?"

She was floored by the beauty of the bouquet from last elimination but this one is her favourite so far! She replied in a gentle voice, "Yes, Bobby. These are so gorgeous, thank you!" She smiled and took the flowers and headed towards the couches.

Once everyone settled Bobby looked to the remaining three girls left on the stage. He knew with confidence which girl he would choose next, he would have chosen her earlier but wanted to see how she would cope with not being the first to receive flowers, to which she held up well! He smiled and looked to his chosen girl,

"Pearl, come over here."

She sarcastically glanced around and pointed to herself to which Bobby nodded as he chuckled. She walked over with confidence and before he got a word in she whispered to him, "I was waiting for you to call my name."

"I wouldn't forget it," replied Bobby quietly. He pulled out gorgeous red roses in full bloom and handed them to Pearl, "This bouquet is for you, will you accept it?"

"Of course I will, thank you Bobby," she replied in a seductive voice. She smelled the aromatic scent of the flowers and went to join the others behind the bachelor.

Only two remained on the elimination podium and only one bouquet of flowers was left. Theodora's and Clementine's stomachs sank to the bottom of the floor, one of them wasn't expecting to possibly be the last to receive flowers from the bachelor and the other knew her demise was coming. Bobby glanced at the flowers and gazed at each girl as he created suspense. The room was still until Bobby says,

"The last person I'm giving flowers to and not sending home tonight is..."

"Theodora."

A cacophony of gasps filled the room, some shocked and some pleased, and the realisations set in. Theodora put her hand on her chest and calmed her nerves before walking over the the bachelor, letting her emotions wash over her as she got closer to him. Clementine began to put her head into her hands and get overwhelmed by the regret she felt after her conversation earlier with Bobby.

He looks deeply into Theodora's eyes and presents a bundle of yellow dahlias. As she looked down at them she could feel tears welling up in her eyes. "Will you take these flowers and stay in the competition, Theodora?"

Bobby's voice echoed in the still room and Theodora had no strength to say any words, she just nodded vigorously and gently wiped away a falling tear. She quickly walked to the remaining girls behind Bobby and was accepted with hugs from the others.

While the other contestants calmed Theodora down Bobby gestured for Clementine to walk down to him. She approached him with heavy embarrassment and as Bobby said his first words to her the other girls stopped and looked over,

"I guess this is what happens when you blatantly tell someone you're not ready to commit, right Clementine?"

Clementine was shocked he would call her out like that... but maybe she deserved it? Bobby next told her that he will be waiting outside to say goodbye and she can say farewell to the others in the meantime. He disappeared out of the front door and Clementine turned to see the other girls all wearing sad expressions.

She rushed over to Bethany who she grew closest with in the entire competition. They both embraced each other in a tight hug and Bethany quietly said to her, "I'm going to miss you so much, I'm so sorry to see you go."

Clementine sighed and replied back, "I know... I didn't play this game well and I suffer the consequences." They pulled away from each other and Bethany looked to the floor in sadness. Behind her she saw Rosie with a slightly shocked expression and Theodora who still wiped away tears and mouthed the words "sorry" to her.

Clementine also saw Mary-Anne standing beside her and finished her goodbyes with Bethany so she could speak with her roommate. They shared a quick hug and Mary-Anne said,

"I'm sorry we never became close friends but I know its going to feel so empty without you in our room." Clementine smiled at her kind words and replied,

"I'm going to miss you too, stay in touch?" Mary-Anne nodded. Clementine looked at the other remaining contestants and waved goodbye to all of them before leaving through the front door. There she met Bobby standing near a car under the dark night sky. She took a deep breath and prepared to say her last goodbye.

Once she stood in front of the bachelor she didn't know what to say so she waited for Bobby to start talking first. "It was nice to meet you Clementine," he began, "but I'm disappointed with how our relationship went." She nodded and looked down at her feet. He put his hand on her shoulder and said, "no hard feelings?"

She thought for a second and decided to be mature as she left and nodded with a smile. "Yeah, let's leave it on a good note. It was nice to get to know you, Bobby. Good luck finding 'the one'."

He sat her into the car and closed the door before waving goodbye as she drove back to her local home in Sunlit Tides. As he watched her disappear around the corner he reflected back on Clementine's departure compared to Margo's. The longer he knows these girls the harder it's going to be to say goodbye but he put that thought aside, breathed in a gulp of fresh midnight air and went back inside.

Continuing the elimination night tradition he called all of the remaining contestants to join him in the kitchen where various cocktails and late-night snacks were laid out on the counters. They all grabbed a cocktail each and got chatting. Any nervousness or worries they had just hours ago during elimination were completely erased and they all were bantering like long-term friends.

Rosie admitted that her stomach was grumbling and grabbed a portion of firecracker shrimp and sat down to eat. Roommates Theodora and Bethany stood away from the group and giggled about some secrets they shared. The bachelor stood with Pearl and Mary-Anne near the bar stand and wanted to learn more about how they felt after the elimination.

"How was it like knowing that you didn't have to worry about being eliminated tonight, Mary-Anne?" he questioned.

"Oh, it was such a relief!" she admitted loudly, "thanks again for the wildflowers, Bobby."

He looked towards Pearl as he smirked and said, "and what was it like for you to not be safe this time, Pearl?"

She made a huff of repressed laughter, "I wasn't worried one bit. I knew I was safe regardless!"

Mary-Anne was stunned to see Pearl so confident with herself but it got her wondering why that was the case. Bobby looked at Pearl in a way that he didn't look at her... were they keeping a secret from the others?

The bachelor ended that conversation and called everyone together as he clinked his glass. He decided to make a short speech congratulating everyone for surviving another elimination,

"With the second elimination night over I'd like to warmly congratulate you five remaining girls for making it this far in the competition!" They girls all whooped, clapped and raised their glasses in the air with joy before Bobby continued to say, "but this night of surprises isn't over just yet..."

The girls all looked at him and their peers in confusion and waited for him to elaborate... could there be someone else going home? Or perhaps a new contestant coming on to the show? Bobby looked around and watched their puzzled expressions as his smile grew.

"I wanted to reveal the surprise tomorrow but I can't wait any longer! We're all going on a short vacation! We're flying to Champs Les Sims tomorrow morning!!!" The five girls gasped and began cheering loudly, thanking the bachelor for such a sudden surprise. "Here's to a wonderful and romantic stay in Champs Les Sims, cheers!"

They all raised their glasses and created a harmonious clinking rhythm. The bachelor warned the girls that their flights are very early and they should finish their drinks and head to bed if they want some good rest. They all adhered to his advice and thanked him once more before retreating to their rooms.

Roomies Theodora and Bethany were the last one's in the house to clean up and get ready for bed. As they threw back their covers and got comfortable on their soft mattresses they both shared what they were more excited to do and see in Champs Les Sims, and the best part being that they will share all of these moments with the bachelor! They tried to suppress their excitement, said goodnight to each other and switched off the light.

And that concludes our second elimination night! Clementine has gone back home to her two sisters and is out of the running to become the winner of Season 1 of the Bachelor. For the next few upcoming episodes Bobby will head with the remaining five contestants to the city of love, beautiful Champs Les Sims, to experience some romantic moments and get closer to understanding who could be 'the one' for him. Stay tuned to see how it all goes and see you in the next one!
