Ultimate Decades Challenge - Introduction

Hello one and all!

For those who have been following my Bachelor Challenge, don't fret! I am not ending that series yet! I've just been having fun with another challenge and finally have enough content to write about here, so there will be a healthy mix of the two here over time. And if you're a new reader who doesn't know what I'm talking about, check out my Bachelor Challenge above! It's true reality romance trash :P

Anyhow, as the title suggests, I have been playing the Ultimate Decades Challenge! Although it was written by Morbid for the Sims 4, I have adapted the rules to suit the Sims 3! Most events have been barely modified but certain things, like what crops to grow and which traits are allowed, have been changed to work with our favourite game ever.

I will be documenting every year I play in my UDC save in a blog post here and to those who are visiting from Tumblr, shout out to you! <3 So let's get started...

This challenge is based in the Middle Ages, which featured a lot of death of all kinds, underage marriages, severe illnesses, war, etc. If these topics are upsetting to you I suggest reading with caution.

Welcome to the little medieval land of Praaven!
Our tall tale strays far from the stone walls that surround the King's castle, past the orange rooves of the townhouses and down the slow river, bringing you to the small village of Lughaven. But in reality, our setting is even outside the borders of the half abandoned village on a tiny farmstead recently inherited by two peasant folk with hope in their eyes for a better life.

Meet our young couple, Olyff and Byrhtnoth Chapman.
Their story was a quick one, with Olyff's parent's dying wish was to see her married to a strong and local peasant boy. In comes Byrhtnoth with a timely inheritance of a small hut with some rich farming land from a recently deceased uncle.

And so they arrived to this humble abode with nothing but a few hundred shillings in their pockets, a few seeds to start up a farm, and an open heart for each other. How will their story play out? Will they be able to work their way out of peasantry? Watch how it all plays out over time!

Our story starts in the year 1300 and will hopefully go as far as the modern day! See you in the next one <3
